Maryland State Fair, Friday 08/28/09

The Maryland State Fair, near Towson was the first one we attended on our journey to seven state fairs. We ranked it 6th in our ranking of the fairs. It was relatively small and the fairgrounds were not in the best of shape. But, everyone was friendly and the exhibition hall had all the requisite booths-Cutco knives same as Doug tried to sell as a young man, Shammy sponges, people wanting to polish your jewelry and glasses and a candy shop. The fair grounds look like a horse racing venue when the fair is not on. It rained on our way to the fair, but we lucked out and only experienced cloudy skies while there.
